Rant
Sorry I got distracted with Facebook. However I need this to have a rant about the Student Loans Company who have yet again, as per every year since I started paying off my loan, fucked up the calculations. So yet again I will be photocopying all my correspondence and all my P60s and sending it to them and telling them to sort it out. Why can't they get this right? They get my P60 minus that from the balance and add the interest. What is so difficult about that? Current Mood: angry |

Head over Heels http://shrunk.net/886b4c8b (www.amazon.co.uk) Amazon have just started selling shoes and I found the above, absolute work of art in shoe form, shame they don't have them in my size. Can't find the company/brand URL though, Googling "Head over heels" comes up with too many random other things. Current Mood: enthralled |

Job tribulations
How do you know when it is time to move jobs? My last job I decided to move after six months of having nothing to do (really nothing, I played solitaire all day), I put my foot down and come the New Year I started look. My previous job I said enough is enough when they made me cry, and started looking the next day. Now my current job, I've been in for just over two years, and it's a really nice company, with nice people and a lovely venue for an office. They've been pretty good to me as well sending me on lots of helpful and not so helpful training. But... I seem to be lacking the enthusiasm for my work that I used to have. I was nice and busy earlier this year but then one of my projects was put on hold and I've been working at half capacity since then, and being bored always gets me down. On top of that I've now been moved from working under a enthusiastic line manager who was always confident in my abilities to under a fairly dour control freak who believes that unless he does it or it's done his way then... well lets just say it's diminished my confindence. So this has sort of given me itchy feet - mild fed up-ness, the sort of level to start me looking. Except... We have both recently become aware that we're actually quite fed up of living someone so incredibly flat and lacking in landscape. This infers that I should be looking further afield than the local area, but I'm not sure my mild fed-upness is enough to overcome the thought of having to sell the house and move on top of changing jobs. Friday 5
1. Would you rather have a fun job that doesn't pay well or a boring job that does? Fun job definately, I hate being bored, it depresses me :( I have been considering asking to go part time with my work as it is so quiet and boring at the moment and go and do some volenteer work at a local animal shelter instead. But just when I was plucking up the courage to ask I seem to be getting busier again so can't really justify it. 2. Would you sacrifice your morals for a job? No 3. Would you ever take a job that requires you to be in costume? Really depends on the costume, I mean who would turn down the chance to get to wear a bunny girl outfit but the on the oher hand who would want to be seen dead as a hot dog or some other such silly thing. I guess it depends on how flattering the costume is. 4. What is your fantasy job? Well I enjoy organising things, so possibly a wedding/party planner but also something where I could exert my style without spending my own money so maybe a interior designer or property developer. 5. Would you like fries with that? No, I just ate Current Music: Gunfire & Grenades |

Expensive
I heard on the grapevine that the ENB (English National Ballet to you plebs) were selling some of their costumes. I enquired just out of interest. However I've discovered that they want to sell them as a full set for a production and want circa 25,000 GBP for them. Shame. It's a lot of costumes though reading the list, shame can't just buy a handful. |

Yes I am bored | If I were a Dead Russian Composer, I would be Sergei Rakhmaninov. I lived in the early Twentieth Century and was well known for my compositional, conducting, and piano skills, yet I am melancholy despite this talent. My famous works include my nearly-impossible piano concerti. Who would you be? Dead Russian Composer Personality Test | |

Bleeding Heart Liberal
When I got home this evening I found a little bird flailing around in our front garde, kept falling over and obviously couldn't fly. So i've just taken it over to the vets. I should really put that vet's number in my phone. After that cat died in our garden having to take that around there to see if it had a mircochip and to get it cremated, last Christmas |

Friday Five (on Saturday)
1. Do you really make wishes when you blow out the candles on your cake? Yep, not had any candles to blow out for a while though. 2. Have any of the wishes ever come true, if yes? That would require me to remember the wish :) 3. How do you feel about birthdays? (e.g., love the attention, just another day, don't want anyone to know my real age, etc.) I have taken up my dad's tradition of always having a day off on my birthday (or even a week's holiday) so even if you're miserable about getting older at least you can look forward to having a day off. 4. Tell us a favorite gift you've received, or something you'd really like for your next birthday. Well Heds keeps asking me what I want for my birthday but I don't really know this year. 5. What flavor cake? Has to be chocolate By the way is it Saturday (which I'm sure is what I was taught) or Saterday which is what MS office keeps correcting me on)? |

Small Person
I held a baby for the first time yesterday. We went and same Toby and Sara's little one Emily. TBH I have had no contact with babies before and am a little wary of them, hence they thought it would be a perfect oppotunity for me to get over it and thrust her in my arms. She was ok really absolutly fast asleep as she had been fed recently. Heavy and warm, bit like my rabbit expect she did fidget like the rabbit used to. She was born last Sunday and was 5lb something then. You don't think that's much but after holding her for a while your arm does start to ache which as Sara says makes you think about what it must be like to carry that around in you tummy. Must be like having a bowling ball strapped to the front of you. She was tiny and it's strange to think that she will grow up into a person possible as big as myself. Oh and ttotd don't send flowers to someone who's just had a baby because everyone else will hve. I counted about 8 bouquets, all pink (for a girl). We gave this http://www.babyblooms.co.uk/Bouquets/Medium_Bouquet.html which went down very well, so I shall be remembering that next time to occasion arises, which I think is later this month and then again in November. Illness
Heds made me stay home today as I was feeling bad this morning, now I feel ok-ish and hence feel horribly guilty about not being at work. Often if I'm at work I'll feel worse than this but I won't feel like driving home so I'll stay at work, and then I start thinking well if I feel well enough to drive then I'm well enough to stay at work. Viscous circle. Current Mood: guilty |
